Gabriela Mistral

So I read about this poet who won the nobel prize for literature in 1945. Gabriela Mistral. Born in Chile by a different name. I had never heard of her. I read her words tonight and was transported to other worlds. I was moved beyond measure by her words.

Here is a really nice site of some of her writing in its original Spanish. It needs to be read that way in order to hear her voice clearly. A translation is fine but it is not the source sound.

In her poem Ausencia, she concludes: “¡Se nos va todo, se nos va todo!” It all goes away, it all goes away! That kills me.
